Oracle today announced that Slovak Telekom, a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom and the largest multimedia operator in Slovakia, has selected Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control 5.0 to replace its legacy charging system and support new service development and deployment, reduce time to market and lower operational expenses.
Slovak Telekom offers a comprehensive portfolio of multi-play data and voice services for fixed and mobile networks to individuals, households and business customers. The company operates in a very challenging and dynamic market and seeks to gain a competitive edge by replacing its legacy prepaid charging solution to increase service innovation, reduce costs and take full advantage of Oracle’s extensive online charging product capabilities for fixed and next-generation networks.
Slovak Telekom chose to work with Oracle Communications due to its long-term product vision, financial stability and comprehensive communications industry solution portfolio. When the migration to the new platform is complete, the solution will:
Support innovative campaigns and reduce time to market for new services and promotions with feature-rich online charging capabilities
Serve all prepaid subscribers, with the flexibility to evolve to a convergent charging architecture to support postpaid and hybrid billing structures
Provide industry-standard, future-proof and commercial-off-the-shelf technology that will support evolution to an all-IP infrastructure
Reduce customer impact during the transition process by enabling revenue and business continuity thanks to Oracle’s extensive migration management experience
The solution will serve as the charging foundation for Oracle Communications intelligent policy and charging solutions, which will smoothly integrate advanced analytics and second-generation policy controls with online charging capabilities, enabling full data usage monetization and improved decision-making.
The fully redundant Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control solution provides enhanced performance and is being deployed on virtualized Oracle SPARC T4 servers to help reduce capital, managerial and operational costs.
Oracle Communications Consulting, a global team of highly skilled domain and product experts, will lead the implementation with its solution-driven design approach to provide a secure migration and evolution path – based on industry-tested tools engineered specifically to support legacy prepaid system migrations while minimizing risks. This approach will help streamline the implementation and reduce customizations to help maximize cost savings.
Oracle Advanced Customer Support Services will also provide mission-critical support to help Slovak Telekom achieve network-grade availability and maximum performance for the new solution stack.
