Oracle Endeca Information Discovery 3.1 (OEID 3.1) is designed with new capabilities empowering business users to use analytics easily to incorporate the wide variety of information they have access to in decision making. Since Oracle Endeca allows business users to leverage the investments IT has made in enterprise data management, governance, and business intelligence, these decisions can be made with greater confidence, success, and safety. The new functionality includes:
Self-Service Data Mashup and Discovery Dashboards: With Self- Service Data Mashup, business users can combine information from multiple sources and conduct analysis on the complete set. OEID 3.1 expands data sources available for business user data mashup beyond Excel, adding a strong integration with Oracle BI, connectivity to a wide range of databases, as well as semi-structured data in JSON format. The process of creating discovery dashboards has been made even easier by further investments in intuitive drag-and drop layout and wizard-based configuration. Business users can now build new discovery applications in minutes without depending on IT organizations. As discoveries are surfaced and new needs are identified, additional data is simple to add, allowing rapid prototyping and iteration so that the context behind the discoveries can be understood without having to create the perfect model.
Deep Unstructured Analysis: Business users can gain new perspectives and insights from the wide variety of conversations, dialogues, and opinions that exist in both enterprise and public sources, helping companies to build an actionable Big Data strategy. With continuous improvement on Oracle Endeca’s longstanding differentiation in processing and analyzing unstructured information and correlating it with structured data, business users can now perform their own textual mining to identify hidden concepts from unstructured sources without support from IT. Enterprise-Class Self-Service Discovery: Whereas most data discovery products have their roots as desktop tools, Oracle Endeca’s discovery technology started as enterprise infrastructure used by IT organizations to drive mission critical applications over significant user and data volumes with air-tight security and fast, scalable performance.
