Oracle Extends Partner Opportunities in the Cloud with New Two-Tier VAD Distribution Offerings and Cloud-Focused Partner Community
Oracle PartnerNetwork expands reach and leadership to help partners grow their business in the cloud
ORACLE OPENWORLD, SAN FRANCISCO – September 29, 2014
Oracle Cloud represents one of the fastest-growing segments for Oracle. To broaden Oracle’s market reach and help Oracle partners extend their own opportunities and revenue potential with the cloud, Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) has added Oracle Cloud services to Oracle’s value added distributor (VAD) distribution offerings. The new two-tier distribution model for the Oracle Cloud enables partners to leverage local VADs in their respective markets to take full advantage of Oracle Cloud reselling and implementation services. OPN also has created Oracle Cloud Connection, an online community that offers new cloud resources to help partners get the information and tools they need to better serve the cloud needs of joint customers around the world.
Oracle PartnerNetwork today announced the addition of Oracle Cloud services to Oracle’s VAD distribution offerings, enabling a new two-tier distribution model for the Oracle Cloud.
The addition of cloud services will provide partners with more choices in how they deploy Oracle’s cloud offerings.
Oracle Cloud offers the broadest suite of enterprise-grade, public cloud services, including Oracle Applications, Platform, and Infrastructure services, allowing partners to help their customers adopt Oracle Cloud.
Oracle will work closely with its VAD community to further its reach in the broad market and deliver new opportunities to cloud resellers and customers around the globe.
Kicking off the program, Oracle will work with VAD partners Arrow Electronics Inc., Avnet, NEXTGEN, and Tech Data to identify and enable partners best suited to deliver customer value in cloud implementation and managed services.
Oracle will continue to expand its ecosystem of VAD partners in the program throughout the upcoming quarters.
Enabling New Partner Opportunities in the Cloud
• Cloud technologies represent one of the fastest-growing segments of the OPN program.
• Today, more than 15,000 individuals have achieved Oracle Cloud specialist certifications, 600 partners have achieved Cloud Specializations, and Oracle continues to add solutions to support Oracle Cloud Marketplace.
• Adding to those resources, OPN is extending its cloud leadership with the debut of its new Oracle Cloud Connection online community.
• The Oracle Cloud Connection community is designed to engage both new and existing OPN partners in achieving successful business results by partnering with Oracle as part of their cloud strategy. Oracle Cloud Connection will be the place to explore, learn, and engage in the Oracle Cloud.
• The community will provide a centralized point for existing OPN members to access information on all of Oracle’s existing cloud partner programs and offerings, as well as provide a location for non-OPN members to freely explore Oracle Cloud information.
• In the Oracle Cloud Connection, partners can:
Explore Oracle Cloud content, information, tools and resources in a centralized location
Interact with subject matter experts

“There are many corners of the market and globe Oracle simply cannot reach. Our success relies on our partners’ ability to sell and implement Oracle Cloud services in the broad market. For this very reason, we continue to invest more resources in helping partners maximize their cloud-based opportunities, in turn, extending the opportunities for our customers,” said Bruce Chumley, group vice president, Worldwide Alliances and Channels, Distribution Sales, Oracle. “The addition of Oracle Cloud services to Oracle’s VAD distribution offerings will not only help extend our reach, but also give both our reseller partners and our customers the chance to work with skilled cloud experts in their local markets. It’s a win-win for everyone.”
“Given Arrow’s long-standing, global relationship with Oracle, we are delighted to deliver Oracle Cloud services to our North American solution provider community,” said Laurent Sadoun, president of services and the Europe, Middle East and Africa region for Arrow’s North American enterprise computing solutions business. “Our goal is to create the industry’s most compelling cloud offering, and this agreement represents a significant addition for solution providers seeking to move up the ‘stack’ and offer SaaS solutions and applications that address key business needs.”
“Cloud spending is expected to reach record highs in the coming year and represents a huge opportunity for solution providers,” said Chuck Scalia, vice president and general manager, Avnet Technology Solutions, Americas, Oracle Solutions group. “Building on our 25-year relationship with Oracle and broad technical and market expertise in public, private and hybrid clouds, we look forward to helping Oracle expand its reach in the segments we serve and helping the partner community capitalize on the significant market and revenue opportunity cloud technologies represent.”
“Oracle is committed to supporting and leveraging the channel in its cloud strategy,” said John Walters, managing director, NEXTGEN Distribution in Australia. “The channel increases reach but more importantly the channel provides deep subject matter expertise; skilled and certified resources; and trusted relationships to ensure that Oracle Cloud is sold and implemented for the best ongoing customer experience. We at NEXTGEN were so enthused by this opportunity to offer Oracle Cloud services as a part of Oracle’s VAD distribution offerings, that we acquired and enhanced a cloud aggregation and distribution platform that will give a comprehensive marketplace for our partners to leverage the Oracle Cloud.”
“Tech Data is honored to extend our TDCloud portfolio with Oracle’s leading SaaS applications portfolio,” said Stacy Nethercoat, vice president, product marketing, TDCloud at Tech Data. “With our deep expertise in the market and award-winning go-to-market and enablement strategies, we have the formula partners need to successfully broaden their own portfolio and revenue opportunities with Oracle’s SaaS solutions.”
