WebNMS Integrates MySQL and Oracle Database 11g to Help Communications Service Providers to Achieve High Scalability, Performance and Reliability
Choice of Database Engines Enables WebNMS to Deliver on Stringent Networking Demands
Redwood Shores, Calif. – April 27, 2011
WebNMS, a division of ZOHO Corporation and Platinum level member of Oracle PartnerNetwork, supports MySQL and Oracle Database 11g in its WebNMS Framework, a leading network and element management solution.
With more than 25,000 Tier 1 Carrier deployments, WebNMS needed a relational database solution that would allow its industry-leading management system to support the wide-ranging, complex requirements and standards of the communications industry.
By providing the flexibility to integrate either MySQL or Oracle Database 11g in the WebNMS Framework, developers and network operators are able to accommodate the increasingly stringent demands for availability and performance on network management workloads, including the proliferation of nodes, higher bandwidth, and richer communication services.
WebNMS relies on MySQL for its ease-of-use, stability and cost effective licensing model for their customers. Its ubiquity amongst developers and DBAs, cross-platform support and small footprint enable WebNMS customers to quickly build and deploy highly customizable management systems.
Oracle Database 11g and Oracle Real Application Clusters are integrated into the WebNMS Framework when requirements are for fault tolerant, high availability replication, high scalability and performance in a distributed environment.
"With explosive growth being driven by bandwidth demand and emergence of new technologies in mobile broadband, LTE, IPTV, Optical and Cloud infrastructures, it is critical that our products are backed by technology that can deal with the high demands that are placed on them,” said Eric Wegner, business development manager, ZOHO Corporation. “With MySQL and Oracle Database 11g, we can do just that – and our customers can quickly deliver precise levels of performance and availability needed by the service providers who rely on WebNMS to manage and control their network infrastructures.”
“In order to maintain a competitive edge, communications service providers require support for the ever-changing service requirements by powering their network with a highly reliable and scalable carrier-grade network management system,” Zeev Draer, vice president, Strategic Marketing, MRV. “The technological value and a field-proven record of WebNMS with the flexibility to deploy MySQL or Oracle Database 11g, has enabled MRV to handle the largest nationwide carrier Ethernet access deployment requirements with state-of-the-art Ethernet services.”
