Kamal Osman Jamjoom Upgrades Oracle® Retail Applications and Oracle Technology to Support Growth and Performance

Upgrade Improves Merchandise Management Across the Middle East Retail Group’s Growing Franchise and Private Label Brands

To support its growing international business and improve performance and stability, Kamal Osman Jamjoom (KOJ) has upgraded Oracle® Retail Merchandising applications, Oracle Database and Oracle Solaris.
With around 500 stores across six countries in the Middle East, KOJ is one of the most established retail groups in the region operating six franchise brands and two highly successful private labels, Nayomi and Mikyajy on the Oracle platform.
Having first invested in Oracle Retail and Oracle E-Business Suite applications in 2006 to support its expansion across the Gulf region, KOJ wanted to benefit from the latest functionality, integration capabilities and support provided by more recent versions of the Oracle solutions.
KOJ reports that its real time inventory management system has provided timely, accurate data resulting in stock accuracy levels averaging 99.99 percent for online inventory and 98.5 percent for store inventory.
Pricing changes can now be managed quickly and efficiently, even within its new franchise brands: bebe, Ulla Popken, List and Neal’s Yard Remedies.
In the warehouse, improvements to merchandise flows are resulting in better allocation and cross-dock capabilities; while enhanced visibility to the replenishment cycle and integrated allocation functionality provides greater control over products and inventories, supporting customer service levels.
The upgrade has provided the business with access to new functionality, with its finance operation reporting a reduction in payroll processing from five hours to 11 minutes for the Saudi Arabian payroll and from two hours to five minutes for the UAE payroll.
Oracle Retail Invoice Matching and Oracle Active Retail Intelligence are expected to go live shortly.
KOJ chose to implement the Oracle Retail applications with minimal changes to provide the stable infrastructure required for the next phase of deployment involving Oracle Retail Merchandise Financial Planning, Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management and Oracle Retail Point-of-Service.
