ResCare, Inc. Partners with Optimum Solutions to Enhance Insight into Business Performance with Oracle® Business Intelligence

Home Care Provider Improves Decision Making with Timely, Accurate Intelligence

Redwood Shores, Calif. – July 11, 2011

News Facts

ResCare, Inc., a human services company, has successfully implemented Oracle® Business Intelligence Foundation and Oracle Business Intelligence (BI) Applications on an Oracle data warehouse by partnering with Optimum Solutions, a Platinum level member in the Oracle PartnerNetwork.
ResCare’s delivery of Oracle Business Intelligence provides insight to decision makers which enables them to take action via access to relevant, complete and consistent information.
With the implementation of the Oracle solution, ResCare users now benefit from:
Improved decision making capabilities resulting in enhanced business performance based on access to timely and role-based information;
A consolidated view of information from disparate systems to produce a complete, multi-departmental picture of the business;
Efficiencies gained from a single version of the truth that helps enable better comprehension and ability to take immediate action;
Drill back access to source systems from dashboards to investigate transactional details further;
Exception highlighting and guided actions to draw focus to items requiring immediate attention; and,
Reduced manual processes and calculations associated with developing dashboards, reports and scorecards significantly.
Optimum Solutions, specialized in both Oracle BI Foundation and Oracle BI Applications, worked with ResCare to implement the first two phases of its Oracle BI solution in the span of 12 months. The footprint included integration of Oracle, as well as a variety of non-Oracle data sources.

Oracle BI Platform Offers ResCare Single Version of the Truth

Louisville, Kentucky-based ResCare is one of the largest providers of home care to the elderly and people with disabilities. ResCare’s 48,000 employees serve daily more than 65,000 people in 41 states, Washington, D.C., and a growing number of international locations.
Prior to deploying its BI solution, ResCare relied on manual processes to produce quarterly operational scorecards from disparate financial and human resources (HR) data sources.
Pressed for the need to improve the accuracy, completeness, relevance and timeliness of its operational reporting, ResCare deployed Oracle BI Enterprise Edition, Oracle Financial Analytics and Oracle Human Resources Analytics running on an Oracle data warehouse.
Using Oracle’s prebuilt, role-based analytic applications, ResCare benefitted from:
Out-of-the-box integration between Oracle E-Business Suite Financial Management and Oracle Financial Analytics helping front-line managers improve financial performance with complete, timely information on their department's expenses and revenues;
The consolidation of data from existing human resources, payroll and timekeeping applications by Oracle Human Resources Analytics enabling the company to more effectively and efficiently manage its labor pool via right-time payroll and timekeeping reporting; and,
The metadata mapping, metrics and analytic data model features of Oracle’s analytic applications enabling it to speed deployment time and help reduce overall total cost of ownership.
Today, the ResCare management team down to its executive director has access to timely operational financial and human resources dashboards, reports and scorecards via a unified BI platform that incorporates business data from all systems.
Optimum, ResCare and Oracle continue to spotlight this success story through a ‘ResCare Business Intelligence Success Story Tour’ comprised of a nationwide series of executive events, conference keynote presentations and webinars, which began in July 2010.
In March 2011, ResCare deployed Oracle Universal Content Management in support of its intranet redesign project.
