Terry M. Olkin

ORACLE EXECUTIVE BIOGRAPHY

Senior Vice President
Oracle Collaborative Technologies

As Senior Vice President of the Collaborative Technologies Division, Terry Olkin is responsible for the design, vision, and implementation of Oracle's future collaborative applications.

Mr. Olkin was most recently founder and chief technology officer of Sigaba (a.k.a. Secure Data In Motion, Inc.), a supplier of enterprise-class secure messaging solutions, including secure email, instant messaging and e-statement delivery. In this position, Mr. Olkin helped raise millions of dollars to fund the company in addition to providing executive and technical leadership.

Previously, Mr. Olkin held a position at Microsoft as a member of the Architecture Oversight Group where he worked on projects ranging from XML persistence to real-time, distributed and application messaging infrastructures. In addition to holding senior-level positions at Open Horizon, Mr. Olkin worked at Oracle from 1988 to 1994, during which time he co-founded Oracle's Advanced Technology Division, led by the company's co-founder Bob Miner, to research next generation database strategies.

Mr. Olkin has authored numerous patents, virtually all in areas related to secure electronic communications. The patents cover aspects of security from proxy authentication to secure middleware to key distribution in a distributed secure messaging system. He has helped influence many standards, including ANSI SQL, JDBC, JMS and SAML and is a frequent speaker at industry forums.

Mr. Olkin graduated from M.I.T. in 1988 with a degree in computer science and engineering.
