Oracle Technology Product Marketing
Rick Schultz is Vice President of Technology Product Marketing at Oracle. In this role, Mr. Schultz is responsible for defining and driving the global market strategy for Oracle's technology business, spanning Oracle Database, Oracle Fusion Middleware, cloud computing, business intelligence and analytics, big data, security, management and virtualization, operating systems, developer tools, and the Java platform. He also leads the marketing efforts for Oracle’s engineered systems products including Oracle Exadata Database Machine, Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud, Oracle Exalytics In-Memory Machine, Oracle Big Data Appliance, and Oracle Database Appliance. Mr. Schultz rejoined Oracle in 2004 and led the marketing efforts for Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle's fastest-growing business, for four years, during which time Oracle established its brand and the #1 position in the middleware market. He also drove the marketing efforts for Oracle's business intelligence, security, and enterprise management products during that period.
Mr. Schultz has an extensive background in middleware and developer tools. Prior to rejoining Oracle, he spent six years in the software division of Sun Microsystems, where he held various roles leading product marketing teams across the Java platform and middleware products. Before that, he was with Oracle from 1995 to 1998, during which time his responsibilities included heading a product management group focused on Oracle Developer tools.
Mr. Schultz holds a degree in business from the University of California, Berkeley.
