Oracle solutions keeps customers competitive and on the leading edge of performance.

As the director responsible for communicating the value of Oracle Premier Support, I often highlight the innovation delivered in our product and technology releases. In fiscal year 2012, Oracle invested US$4.5 billion per year in tested and certified product enhancements. Specifically for the JD Edwards line, Oracle has released more new products in the last 18 months than in any other period in the line’s long history. Both JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and JD Edwards World have had major application product releases—9.1 and A9.3 respectively—with new industry and end-user functionality improvements. The JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools Development team also continues to deliver innovative releases on a regular basis, the latest of which is 9.1.3.
When it comes to product innovation, customers on Oracle Premier Support can take advantage of advances that lead the industry. Here are three new innovations available to customers now:
Oracle has announced JD Edwards EnterpriseOne In-Memory Applications, part of Oracle In-Memory Applications. Current applications processes that could only be imagined as batch processes are now transformed to real time. JD Edwards developers have also examined high-volume processes and engineered them to significantly reduce processing time for current customers on Oracle Exadata and Oracle Exalogic systems. Customers realize the additional value not only in their applications, but also from product engineering across the product lines.
Customers are getting great traction with tablet support for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, which enables them to run the entire suite of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications from an iPad. With the new mobile applications for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, customers can gain real-time insight into sales orders, item availability, and item-based pricing. Customers now also have the ability to easily review and approve requisition self-service orders and purchase orders, and expense reports on mobile devices. Gary Grieshaber, senior director of technology product strategy for Oracle’s JD Edwards, told me customers are saying that deploying mobile capabilities is a snap since they are delivered as part of the standard release update process. JD Edwards EnterpriseOne–specific capabilities for these mobile and tablet applications have lead to rapid end-user adoption.
When it comes to product innovation, customers on Oracle Premier Support can take advantage of advances that lead the industry.
The most evident and exciting innovation from JD Edwards has been the new user experience delivered with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.1. New capabilities include a brand-new look and feel, configurable role-based home page, and the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne One View end-user reporting tool with 13 built-out application content modules. Grieshaber shared with me the vision for the user experience as simple, intuitive, and productive. The newest release delivers innovation such as composite applications for enhanced decision-making, enabling personalization for users’ specific needs, and on the whole simplifying transactions and access to information.
