Unleashing ISV Application Performance
The processing and performance benefits of Oracle Exadata Database Machine and Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud are now available to independent software vendors (ISVs) via the Oracle Exastack program. Through the Oracle Exastack program, Oracle is working with ISVs to optimize their applications on these same engineered systems, unlocking new value for end customers.
With Oracle Exastack, ISVs can write applications once and have the flexibility to support both on-premises and cloud-based deployments.
Oracle Exastack changes the game; ISVs can now develop applications more quickly and focus R&D investments on their core functionality. Partners also leverage Oracle’s R&D application platform investments with engineered systems that optimize the stack from operating system, database, and middleware down to the server and storage hardware.
“By embracing Oracle Exastack, ISVs will get greater performance from their applications,” says Kevin O’Brien, senior director, ISV and SaaS strategy at Oracle. “At the same time, ISVs will bring simpler application deployment models to their customers, reducing complexity at the time of implementation through the lifecycle of the application.”
Oracle is making it easy for ISVs to prepare their applications with the newly offered Oracle Exastack Ready program, through which partners can demonstrate to customers the adoption of various Oracle Exastack building blocks, including the latest releases of Oracle Linux, Oracle Solaris, Oracle Database, and Oracle WebLogic solutions. Qualifying partners can also take advantage of new Oracle Exastack Lab environments and related technical resources to test and tune applications for delivering optimal performance and scalability on Oracle Exadata or Oracle Exalogic systems; these ISV applications will earn Oracle Exastack Optimized status.
“We’re launching the Oracle Exastack program this summer at a partner kick-off event. In addition, Oracle will showcase Oracle Exastack Optimized ISVs at Oracle OpenWorld. ISV interest in Oracle Exastack is extremely high,” says O’Brien. “The value proposition to the ISV is compelling—increase application performance and reduce R&D costs while at the same time increasing customer satisfaction. The conversations have been very positive because it makes sense to them.”
