Oracle’s Prebuilt Integrations Benefit Supply Chain Organizations
by Minda Zetlin, August 2011
In the spring of 2011, Oracle announced the availability of Oracle Application Integration Architecture (Oracle AIA) Release 3.1, a comprehensive update on the first releases of Oracle AIA prebuilt integrations based on and certified for industry-leading Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g.
The release has particular relevance to organizations looking to integrate applications that support supply chain processes, because it includes integrations among Oracle’s Agile applications for product lifecycle management (PLM) and Oracle’s Demantra applications for demand management.
The Oracle Design-to-Release Integration Pack for Agile Product Lifecycle Management for Process and Oracle Process Manufacturing is a prebuilt, best-practice integration process that can be configured to meet customers’ unique process needs. Based on open standards–based service-oriented architecture, it is designed for seamless synchronization of enterprise product records and recipes across the supply chain and extended product network.
The prebuilt integration accelerator supports enterprise processes that connect the PLM product records and recipes in Agile Product Lifecycle Management for Process with Oracle Process Manufacturing.
Oracle Value Chain Planning Integration Base Pack, which previously delivered prebuilt integration of Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne solutions with Oracle value chain planning solutions and Demantra Demand Management, has now been extended to include integration of Oracle’s PeopleSoft supply chain management with Demantra Demand Management.
Oracle AIA provides an open, standards-based approach for customers to integrate cross-application business processes, leveraging a broad range of custom, Oracle, or third-party applications while providing a jump start to integration projects, reducing integration risk and lowering integration costs.
Oracle AIA 3.1 speeds time to value of the development of loosely coupled process integrations by harnessing the combined power of predefined application integration and Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g.
With Oracle AIA 3.1, Oracle continues to deliver on its promise of providing a predefined architecture that helps reduce complexity, accelerating delivery of enterprise-class integration solutions and offering prebuilt integrations across all major Oracle applications, including support for newer versions of these applications.
