Twenty-six developers from the Oracle Mexico Development Center were given an intense challenge: use Oracle Endeca to discover interesting relationships between Twitter data and Profit content—and in 36 hours build a usable application for an IT manager. Armed with Oracle tech and their ingenuity, five teams worked frantically to build a winning entry. When the dust settled, Rafael Flores, Luis Zuniga, Daniel Valdivia, and Carlos Alcala won the challenge with a web-based application that met the criteria for utility, execution, and novelty. “The idea was to drive innovation,” says Jeremy Ashley, vice president of Oracle Applications User Experience. “Now, we’ll see if we can turn some of this work into an Oracle product.”
