Oracle’s Mark Hurd, Industry Experts, and Top Government Officials Discuss Security at Gartner Summit

Oracle President Mark Hurd will be joined by a former U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security and other security experts at the Gartner Security & Risk Management Summit 2011, beginning June 20 in Washington DC.

The theme of the three-day summit will be Security and Risk Intelligence: The Next Step in Improved Business Performance, and the event will feature presentations by Gartner analysts and luminaries from industry and government. Together they will explore how advanced security and risk management programs are generating new intelligence that organizations can use to improve business performance.

Hurd will sit down with Gartner’s Neil MacDonald for a “Mastermind Interview” and share Oracle’s perspectives on the evolution of IT security, the critical role it plays in business success today, as well as the critical role Oracle will play helping its more than 370,000 customers securely manage information, streamline business processes, and reduce the costs and complexity of managing their IT infrastructures securely.

Drawing upon his experiences as Homeland Security Secretary, Michael Chertoff will explore strategies for managing risk and lessons for achieving security preparedness during his session, “Security, Risk, and Crisis Management in the Coming Decade”.

Additionally, Mark Morrison, director of intelligence community information assurance, and Pat Sack, vice president of the Oracle national security group, will discuss U.S. government cross-domain secure information sharing. This case study session will explain how Oracle helped the U.S. government consolidate its mission-critical intelligence database infrastructure securely, and the underlying Oracle Database security solutions that can benefit any organization looking to increase business agility and drive down IT costs through database consolidation.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to interact with Oracle security experts throughout the event.
