Optimize Enterprise Applications with Oracle AppAdvantage
IT leaders face an exhilarating challenge: How to help their organizations embrace transformational business imperatives such as mobile technologies, social media, the cloud, fast data, and big data while optimizing current IT investments?
The answer lies in their ability to extend, integrate, configure, and secure their applications to increase agility and embrace these game-changing trends. For customers of Oracle Applications—the Oracle E-Business Suite; Oracle Fusion Applications; and Oracle's PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, and Siebel product families—a new program called Oracle AppAdvantage can provide a strategic roadmap to achieving that goal with Oracle Fusion Middleware.
Oracle AppAdvantage takes a pace-layered approach to developing an IT strategy, beginning with standardizing and consolidating core enterprise applications, followed by extending and enhancing business value across the following three layers.
Explore Oracle AppAdvantage in more detail.
- Simplify IT. This layer aims to minimize system complexity, improve performance, and lower costs across the entire enterprise. CIO at University Of Melbourne Sendur Kathir took the performance challenge head-on. Running Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Identity Management on Oracle Exalogic, the university supports over 3 million student logins with a maximum response time of five seconds for all transactions on the student portal.
- Differentiate. Customers use this layer to create greater business agility with process extensions, cross-application process orchestration, and seamless integration. For example, Vice President of IT Solution Delivery and Enterprise Architecture at McAfee Ron McCutchen leveraged Oracle AppAdvantage to create a new global order-processing platform to replace multiple legacy systems. Today, McAfee's highly available and agile 24/7 order-processing platform integrates the quoting system with its enterprise resource planning system, Oracle's Siebel Customer Relationship Management, and other applications, resulting in significant increase in productivity and improved time to market.
- Innovate. Oracle AppAdvantage helps customers drive business innovation by connecting people, information, and applications anywhere, anytime. Director of Corporate Applications for Pella Corporation Rick Hassman leverages Oracle Applications and Oracle Fusion Middleware for a 360-degree view of customers that is used by sales and customer service teams and that feeds a new online real-time appointment scheduling application. Pulling together all customer interactions and combining them with external information allows team members to more accurately respond to customer questions, helping to boost Pella's customer satisfaction ratings.
Meanwhile, at World Fuel Services, CIO Massoud Sedigh plans to use Oracle ADF Mobile to build Fuel Finder, a mobile application accessible to aviators anywhere, anytime, and on any device. Using Oracle's mobile application framework to integrate with Oracle E Business Suite and Oracle Database, Fuel Finder will provide a one-stop solution for pricing information, order placement, and fulfillment.
