Low-Cost High Availability

A series of new videos stars the calmest IT guy in the world. Why so calm? Because he has deployed Oracle Database high-availability solutions to minimize the effect of downtime on mission-critical systems while also eliminating idle redundancy in his IT environment.

The result: The highest availability at the lowest cost.

Each of the videos covers a key element of Oracle Database high-availability solutions, including Oracle Real Application Clusters, Oracle Active Data Guard, and Oracle Flashback.

Videos in the series include

Episode 1: Keep It Rolling. By using Oracle Real Application Clusters, which provides fault tolerance from both hardware failures and planned outages, news of a major server crash at a competitor's data center does not bother the calmest IT guy in the world at all.

Episode 2: In the Dark. When a loss of power shuts down systems, the calmest IT guy in the world remains unruffled, thanks to Oracle Active Data Guard, which offloads resource-intensive activities from production databases to one or more synchronized standby databases.

Episode 3: Flashback. By relying on Oracle Flashback, the calmest IT guy in the world remains unflappable even when someone on his team accidently alters production data.

Watch the videos.
