Government Agencies Get New Cloud Options

A complete set of enterprise resource planning services is slated to become available to public sector organizations throughout the world as part of Oracle Cloud application services.

The portfolio of services is expected to include financial accounting, planning and budgeting, risk and controls management, procurement and sourcing, inventory and cost management, and project portfolio management. Oracle Cloud delivers integrated, industry standards–based solutions in a cloud environment that is completely managed, hosted, and supported by Oracle.

“Oracle Cloud has made a huge impact on the private sector, and now Oracle is bringing the same productivity and richness to public sector,” says Campbell Webb, Oracle senior vice president of product development IT. He adds that Oracle Cloud services for the public sector will conform to key security standards required by government agencies.

Unique Cloud Capabilities
With a wide range of business application and platform services, Oracle Cloud is the only commercial cloud offering that eliminates the data and business process fragmentation that occurs when customers use multiple, siloed public clouds.

“Most cloud vendors only have niche assets. They don’t have platforms to extend. Oracle is the only vendor that offers a complete suite of modern, socially enabled applications, all on a standards-based platform,” says Oracle CEO Larry Ellison.

Oracle Cloud is powered by an enterprise-grade infrastructure, built in part with Oracle Exadata Database Machine and Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud, which provides users with reliable and secure technologies for running critical business applications.

Oracle Cloud ERP services is designed to be an integrated suite that transforms the back office into a collaborative and efficient hub in which rich financial and operational capabilities are combined with the latest in social, mobile, and analytic technologies. The complete offering will include Oracle Fusion Financials; Oracle Fusion Governance, Risk, and Compliance; Oracle Fusion Procurement; Oracle Fusion Project Portfolio Management; Oracle Fusion Inventory Management; Oracle Fusion Product Hub; and Oracle Hyperion Planning.

Together, Oracle Cloud ERP services will deliver
  • A subscription-based SaaS deployment model with easy, predictable pricing
  • Financial management, planning and budgeting, risk and controls management, procurement and sourcing, inventory and cost management, product master data management, and project portfolio management
  • Global enterprise capabilities, including multi-GAAP, multicurrency, multilanguage, and multisubsidiary capabilities
  • A modern user experience optimized for today’s collaborative, hyperconnected, and mobile workforce
  • Business intelligence for everyone with pervasive and in-context analytics
Using Oracle Cloud ERP services, agencies will be able to move to truly enterprise-grade cloud solutions that offer simplicity along with breadth and depth. These solutions will allow public sector organizations to turn their attention away from data and focus on analyzing and optimizing business processes to achieve greater insight and intelligence. This will enable them to evolve from a process orientation and move toward providing employees with the latest technologies that can help them achieve greater productivity.
