New Cloud Odyssey Events Take Data Center Leaders on a Heroic Quest
A crew of Earth’s top engineers sets its sights on the mysterious cloud planet Terranuvem. As Chief Engineer Cyrus Agarwal readies his ship for the voyage, he must make the right architectural choices—and be ready for the unknown.
So begins Cloud Odyssey: A Hero’s Quest, an epic new sci-fi film that kicks off Cloud Odyssey, a global series of one-day events that provide strategic and practical solutions for cloud computing.
"Besides being a unique movie experience, Cyrus's mission sheds light on the real-world challenges today's IT leaders face," says Moe Fardoost, senior director of product marketing, Oracle. "They get to explore what key success factors to anticipate in their own journey to cloud."
Following the movie experience that includes five movie segments and short presentations, attendees are invited to dig further into their own cloud journeys during a deep-dive session with Oracle experts.
- Planning, Deploying, and Running Your Cloud. Faced with different approaches to cloud, IT organizations need a pragmatic blueprint. This session explores a range of implementation approaches, including proven best practices.
After the deep-dive session, attendees are invited to attend one of the following three sessions with Oracle experts.
- Accelerate Your Journey to Self-Service IT: Database as a Service (DBaaS). This hands-on workshop begins with an architectural overview of a database cloud, followed by a hands-on workshop devoted to planning, building, deploying, and managing a database cloud. Interact with a live enterprise cloud environment, including servers, databases, and management tools. And learn firsthand how to deliver a self-service IT environment for DBaaS.
- Accelerate Your Journey to Self-Service IT: Application Platform as a Service (APaaS). This workshop begins with an architectural overview for building a Java application platform cloud, followed by a hands-on workshop on planning, building, deploying, and managing such a cloud via a live cloud environment.
