Oracle Unveils Oracle Retail Customer Analytics: Actionable Insight into Customer Buying Habits

In June 2012, Oracle launched Oracle Retail Customer Analytics, a new business intelligence solution that gives retailers actionable insight into customers and what drives their buying decisions.

The latest addition to Oracle Retail’s business intelligence solutions, Oracle Retail Customer Analytics provides retailers with segmentation, demographic, product affinity, and promotion information to increase both sales and margins.

"Today, retailers are notoriously data-rich but information-poor," explains Andrea Morgan-Vandome, vice president of product strategy and solution marketing, Oracle Retail. "They accumulate millions of rows of data but find themselves unable to leverage that data to make informed decisions."

Oracle Retail Customer Analytics changes the equation, helping category managers, merchandise managers, buyers, and pricing analysts answer critical questions such as
  • How are my products selling across demographic groups?
  • How are my products selling across behavioral attribute groups?
  • What are my most valuable customer segments?
  • How are my promotions performing?
  • What are my top product affinities?
“Oracle Retail Customer Analytics takes the custom-build programming off the retailer’s plate and gives merchants, category managers, and pricing analysts the tools to analyze who’s buying what and when,” explains Mike Webster, senior vice president and general manager, Oracle Retail.

By using the same intuitive approach to visualizing data as Oracle Retail Merchandising Analytics, the new solution enables business users to run queries and act on insights directly from their dashboard, helping retailers adapt to customer preferences and market opportunities on the fly.
