Oracle’s New Magazine Targets Readers in Engineering and Construction

The premiere issue of Construction Connection, Oracle’s new digital magazine and microsite—published in partnership with Engineering News Record (ENR)—for professionals in engineering and construction companies, is now available. The new magazine provides the latest news about Oracle enterprise project portfolio management (EPPM) solutions and case studies about how organizations are using EPPM to address business opportunities and challenges. The new digital assets also offer links to blogs, white papers, and other resources to help readers use EPPM more effectively.

A new edition of Construction Connection will be released each quarter with the help of ENR, a leading magazine for construction industry professionals for almost 100 years. A link to Construction Connection is featured on the home page of, the online community for Engineering News Record.

In addition to providing readers with valuable information about managing large and complex projects, Construction Connection also demonstrates Oracle’s deep and ongoing commitment to the engineering and construction industries. Garrett Harley, Oracle’s director of engineering and construction strategy, answered questions about the magazine in a recent interview.

Q: What’s the core mission of Construction Connection?
A: It gives engineering and construction professionals a central place to read the latest news about Oracle EPPM solutions. It is also a dedicated spot to discover what Oracle is introducing across its entire solution set.

Q: Why did Oracle decide to launch the digital magazine and microsite?
A: We wanted to show people in engineering and construction that whether they’re part of a small, midsize, or large company, Oracle is here to provide the solutions they need. In addition to Oracle Primavera, Oracle is helping these customers integrate other advanced technologies, including Oracle Database, Oracle Fusion Middleware, and Oracle Applications to help them transform how their companies are managing project data. Together, these resources enable engineering and construction firms to differentiate themselves in their markets.

Q: What can readers expect to see in future issues?
A: We will be encouraging a wide variety of thought leaders to contribute content, as engineering and construction work directly impacts global infrastructure across a variety of markets and project types. In our next issue, we plan to focus on the industrial engineering and construction work that is typical of oil and gas, petrochemical, natural resource, and utility companies. We will also feature some key global trends, challenges, and opportunities in those markets, and showcase success stories of how owners and contractors alike have benefited from a comprehensive EPPM approach when executing their business strategies. Future issues will focus on all types of engineering and construction work, such as core infrastructure, industrial, and commercial work. Whether you are an owner or a contractor, the magazine has something for everyone.
