Oracle Excellence Awards Honor Groundbreaking Use of Oracle Database
Oracle customers and partners continually discover inventive ways to deploy successful, progressive solutions and establish best practices using Oracle technology. The Oracle Excellence Awards recognize customers and partners that have excelled in driving business value together with Oracle. Congratulations to the 2012 award winners in 12 categories that span efforts ranging from leadership to corporate sustainability—and include honors for key database activities such as database administration and data warehousing.
Meet the Winners
New in 2012, the Database Administrator of the Year award recognizes individuals who demonstrate excellent technical ability and superior knowledge of Oracle Database and Oracle engineered systems within their organization. The 2012 winners include
- Oracle Database Administrator of the Year—Europe, Middle East, and Africa
Jörg Otto, Database Administrator, IDS GmbH—Analysis and Reporting Services, a company of Allianz
- Oracle Database Administrator of the Year—Asia Pacific
Jangwon Park, Database Administrator, SK 11st
- Oracle Database Administrator of the Year—North America
Rahul Pednekar, Database Administrator, Bank of America

The Data Warehouse Leader of the Year award recognizes individuals who demonstrate excellent technical ability and superior knowledge of Oracle data warehouse technologies and who consistently apply best practices while demonstrating leadership and sharing experience both within and outside of his or her business. The 2012 winners include

On the Horizon: Oracle OpenWorld 2013
Many of the 2012 ceremonies for the Oracle Excellence Awards took place at Oracle OpenWorld 2012—and it’s not too soon to start thinking about Oracle OpenWorld 2013. Nominations for 2013 CIO of the Year and Leadership categories opened February 1, 2013 and will close on April 30, 2013. Nominations for all other categories open March 25, 2013, and close June 24, 2013.
