New PeopleSoft HCM Functionality Targets Payroll, Compensation, and Time and Labor

Three important new features are now available for Oracle’s PeopleSoft human capital management 9.1 solutions. They’re coming prior to the formal release of that platform’s Feature Pack 2, scheduled for early 2012.

Oracle’s unique feature pack strategy gives organizations early access to new features before a full-scale revision ships. (Get more details about feature packs and how HCM departments can pick and choose which features to implement based on their unique requirements.)

The latest features include the following.

Single Euro Payment Area (SEPA)—This feature helps lower transaction-processing costs by making crossborder Euro payments as flexible and secure as domestic payments. Customers can now manage payroll according to SEPA standards through PeopleSoft’s Financial Gateway feature. Integration with PeopleSoft Global Payroll allows users to set up any country-specific business rule for end-to-end processing, from generating payment files to receiving acknowledgements from banks. Total Rewards Statement—This feature allows customers to easily provide their employees with a comprehensive view of cash and noncash compensation and benefits. Total Rewards Statement can pool data from multiple data sources, including non-PeopleSoft sources, by using common data definitions, filters, and calculations. Organizations can use Total Rewards Statements to give employees a personalized summary of the total value of their compensation and benefits. This can help improve employee retention rates and make it easier to recruit new talent. Explore the latest Total Rewards Statement features through My Oracle Support (login required.)

Templates Made Available—The Templates Made Available feature allows users to create and maintain time and labor template definitions via a new interface. Users can also create new template-built rules online. Oracle also offers a detail page for the template rule component that helps customers develop new templates without having to create or add custom pages.
