Oracle WebCenter Sites: FatWire Acquisition Helps Drive Personalized, Cross-Channel Customer Engagement

In the wake of Oracle's recent acquisition of FatWire, Oracle WebCenter Sites is bringing together comprehensive tools for true Web experience management (WEM)—the ability to deliver consistent, personalized, and highly engaging customer experiences across all channels.

From WCM to WEM
Over the last 18 months, Web 2.0 technologies have achieved widespread adoption. As a result, customers are increasingly expecting a one-on-one experience whenever and however they interact with your organization, from the Web to stores to call centers to mobile apps.

That means organizations have to move beyond traditional Web content management (WCM)—which encompasses authoring, designing, and publishing content—to provide Web experience management. This requires integrated tools that
  • Target content to individual users
  • Leverage testing and analytics to optimize customer engagements
  • Convert prospects into customers, and customers into "fans"
  • Engage customers and moderate user-generated content
Oracle WebCenter Sites
To foster true “one-to-one” relationships with customers, Oracle WebCenter Sites gives Web marketers tools to engage with customers based on real-time, contextually aware information—regardless of channel. At the same time, it provides IT with tools for real-time integration of back-end and front-end systems to harmonize customer data—plus analytics to derive the most value from that data.

Key features include
  • Easy-to-use content authoring and design tools for business users
  • Sophisticated customer-segment-based targeting
  • Granular analytics for optimizing Web content, promotions, and offers
  • Centralized business-user management and highly scalable content delivery to both mobile and traditional high-volume, global Websites, including thousands of popular mobile devices
  • User-generated content with enterprise moderation, including comments, ratings, reviews, and blogs
  • Customizable gadgets for personalizing Websites
  • Out-of-the-box adapters for accessing content stored across the enterprise and the ability to integrate with Oracle’s CRM and e-commerce applications
