Banks Have a New Weapon to Tackle Risk-Management Scrutiny

Increased regulatory requirements and heightened shareholder scrutiny are forcing financial institutions to rethink their liquidity risk management strategies. In response, Oracle has announced Oracle Reveleus Liquidity Risk Management, a new solution for centrally identifying and assessing enterprisewide liquidity risk under various market conditions.

With tools to help banks develop effective plans for closing liquidity gaps, the software provides financial organizations with comprehensive information to meet the liquidity risk management demands of regulators, customers, and shareholders.

“A consistent and timely approach to enterprise data provides the intersection point for linking risk and performance management, and centralizing decision-making processes for absorbing, limiting, or transferring risks based on performance priorities,” says Doug McKibben, research vice president at Gartner.

Banks can use the new application to identify liquidity risk under various scenarios, ranging from business-as-usual to stressed business conditions. Aiding this effort is a comprehensive set of prebuilt reports and dashboards covering all aspects of liquidity risk management, including such emerging regulatory requirements as individual liquidity adequacy assessment standards of the Financial Services Authority, principles for sound liquidity risk management, and supervision of the bank for international settlements.

The product also supports a bank’s efforts to manage liquidity “hotspots” by enabling them to apply counterbalancing strategies and contingency funding plans to bridge liquidity gaps.

Oracle Reveleus Liquidity Risk Management is designed to work with a bank’s existing asset and liability management systems, such as Oracle Financial Services Asset Liability Management, as well as risk and performance applications from Oracle Financial Services and third-party solutions.
