Expanded CEMLI Team Delivers Comprehensive Life-Cycle Services for Customizations

To help organizations leverage the cloud while ensuring support for customer-specific customizations, the recently expanded Oracle On Demand CEMLI Management Services team now provides comprehensive lifecycle customization, enhancement, modification, localization, and integration (CEMLI) management.

Integrated into the overall delivery of Oracle Cloud Services, Oracle's CEMLI management services provide fast, effective, and comprehensive support for all customer-specific development.

Rising Demand for CEMLI Services
Each organization has unique requirements, and that sometimes necessitates application customizations for cases such as unique business processes, reports, data entry fields, and third-party integrations.

"As the base product evolves and is updated, CEMLI need to be carefully remediated to ensure continued proper functioning with the rest of the application," says Marc Fiedler, vice president, business strategy and planning, Oracle Cloud Services. "Depending on the complexity of the CEMLI environment, this can be a very cumbersome and labor-intensive task."

Many IT organizations either lack the in-house resources to properly support CEMLI, or they prefer to concentrate their resources on more strategic activities.

"In the age of outsourcing, many IT departments have determined that retaining IT staff for the rather mundane task of maintaining their customizations is not the best use of their resources. Instead, they turn to outside experts to perform that task for them, so they can focus on driving new innovation for their business," says Fiedler.

Proactive and Reactive Support
In response to these trends, the Oracle On Demand CEMLI Management Services team combines both deep technical knowledge with an understanding of business practices in order to provide proactive, full lifecycle support for CEMLI.

For example, the team analyzes the impact of patches and upgrades on CEMLI and retrofits them as required—before any problems are encountered. At the same time, the team also provides reactive support, including triage, troubleshooting, and bug fixes. In addition, CEMLI services include
  • Performance-tuning of CEMLI whose performance has degraded
  • Enhancements to conform CEMLI to customers' documented business rules
  • Code promotions and operational health checks
