Laying the Foundation for Your Cloud Applications

Today, most businesses have the ambition and even a roadmap to move to a cloud infrastructure. However, that roadmap cannot succeed if IT can’t support the existing infrastructure. “With Oracle WebLogic, we provide you with the best of both worlds,” says Ruma Sanyal, director, Oracle WebLogic product marketing. “Oracle WebLogic 12c offers significant enhancements that drive higher value for your current infrastructure.”

Oracle WebLogic helps IT
  • Optimize the existing infrastructure with the fastest application server in the market
  • Lower total cost of ownership with simplified deployment and management
  • Accelerate application development and deployment with modern, lightweight tools
Moreover, Oracle WebLogic’s cloud-ready technology lets companies implement cloud strategies by moving existing applications to a high-performance engineered system, Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud, that provides exponentially faster performance and scalability. Additionally, companies can use Oracle Java Cloud Service in Oracle Public Cloud to develop and test applications before seamlessly moving them into an on-premise infrastructure for production deployment.

In addition to Oracle WebLogic 12c, Oracle combines vital cloud infrastructure components into Oracle’s cloud application foundation, including Oracle Virtual Assembly Builder, Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c, and Oracle Coherence.
  • Virtualization. Oracle Virtual Assembly Builder works with Oracle WebLogic Server to significantly increase the efficiency of application virtualization. By packaging multiple software components into a single assembly—a self-contained virtualized unit—Oracle Virtual Assembly Builder allows users to quickly and easily design and deploy multitier applications to virtualized environments, both conventional and cloud. These assemblies remain as blueprints for the applications, giving users the ability to utilize them in development, test, and production environments.
  • Management. The newly released Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c provides broad Oracle WebLogic and cloud management capabilities spanning everything from performance monitoring and diagnostics to deep lifecycle management and self-service. The release includes a self-service portal that can be customized or personalized as an organization sees fit, and metering and chargeback capabilities for a broad set of metrics and properties—both for Oracle WebLogic Server and the underlying host environment.
  • Scalability. Oracle Coherence is the industry's leading in-memory data grid solution, enabling organizations to predictably scale applications by providing fast and reliable access to frequently used data. With support for Java, .NET, C++, and REST clients, Oracle Coherence provides data caching, data replication, and distributed computing services. It relieves overloaded data sources, simplifying management and improving performance for queries, transactions, and events.
