Oracle Agrees to Acquire Collective Intellect, Leader in Social Monitoring, Analytics, and Insight

In June 2012, Oracle announced an agreement to acquire Collective Intellect, whose cloud-based solutions enable organizations to monitor, understand, and respond to consumer conversations on social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.

Collective Intellect's semantic analytics engine processes tens of millions of conversations daily. In order to transform these conversations into actionable intelligence, Collective Intellect solutions eliminate irrelevant and duplicate data, capture a clean signal, determine consumers' intentions and interests, and automatically identify emerging trends and hot topics.

Social Relationship Platform
Oracle’s leading sales, marketing, service, commerce, social data management, and analytics, combined with Collective Intellect and Vitrue, is expected to create the industry's most advanced and comprehensive social relationship platform.

“Collective Intellect’s semantic analytics platform provides cutting-edge technology to Oracle that will create a winning combination as brand-to-customer relationships move from transactional to social,” says Don Springer, founder and chief strategy officer, Collective Intellect.

In particular, Oracle expects to help marketing organizations
  • Create more-targeted and effective marketing campaigns
  • Enable customer service teams to respond quickly to customer feedback on social media
  • Generate targeted leads and opportunities for sales teams
  • Enhance products and services with real-time customer feedback
