Data Integration and MDM: Tuned for Oracle Engineered Systems
Oracle believes systems—like automobiles—should be designed and engineered at the factory with the goal of reducing customers’ costs and complexity, and delivering extreme performance, reliability, availability, and simplicity. This strategy is the centerpiece of Oracle’s engineered systems. We’ll look at two examples that feature data integration and MDM advantages on two of the most prominent engineered systems: Oracle Exadata Database Machine and Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud.

Recent MDM Benchmark Highlights Performance and Lower TCO
A recent Oracle benchmark proved that combining Oracle Master Data Management with Oracle’s Siebel CRM on both Oracle Exadata and Oracle Exalogic would yield impressive performance and scalability. Relative to other commercially available hardware alternatives, Oracle Exadata and Oracle Exalogic operate at a lower total cost of ownership (TCO), require less space, and consume less energy. Comparing results for the same tests done on traditional commodity hardware with the same processing power, Oracle Exadata and Oracle Exalogic delivered 4 times better throughput and 8 times better response times.

Zero Downtime Migration for Oracle Exadata using Oracle GoldenGate
What happens when you don't have long enough off-business hours and need to upgrade your system to support the business? This issue comes up quite often for companies that have critical systems with close to a 24/7 uptime requirement and that want to move to a new system such as Oracle Exadata.

Oracle Exadata’s extreme performance and reliability make it a great fit for mission-critical systems. Using Oracle GoldenGate, companies can dramatically minimize the risk of migration by eliminating downtime almost completely. This is enabled by replicating data in real time from heterogeneous systems into Oracle Exadata. Oracle GoldenGate can also support query offloading, active-active database synchronization for phased migration, and real-time data synchronization for the standby system.
