MySQL Connect Conference—Call for Papers Open on April 16
September 29–30
Further demonstrating its investment in MySQL, Oracle will hold the MySQL Connect conference on September 29 and 30 in San Francisco. The event is a unique opportunity to learn about the latest MySQL features, and it will be jam-packed with technical sessions, hands-on labs, and birds of a feather (BOF) sessions delivered by MySQL community members, users, customers, and MySQL engineers from Oracle. MySQL 5.6 Replication—Enabling the Next Generation of Web and Cloud Services
The new MySQL 5.6.5 Development Milestone Release introduces a highly anticipated feature— Global Transaction Identifiers (GTIDs) for MySQL replication. GTIDs make it simple to track and compare replication progress between the master and slave servers. This enables much simpler recovery from failures of the master, while also introducing great flexibility in the provisioning and on-going management of multitier or ring (circular) replication topologies.
