Deep Dive: Two New Webcasts Explore the Latest Innovations in Oracle Retail Point-of-Service 13.4.1

Launched earlier this year, Oracle Retail Point-of-Service 13.4 delivers a state-of-the-art solution for global payment processing—plus advanced biometrics functionality, new tools for speedier checkouts, and streamlined promotions and point-of service management.

To capture and captivate today's highly informed but time-starved shoppers and turn them into customers for life, Oracle Retail Point-of-Service delivers information that can power cross-channel and save-the-sale customer services and increase store sales.

Functional and Technical Overviews
To help organizations understand and make the most of these innovations, Oracle Retail is offering a pair of one-hour Webcasts to existing customers to provide an in-depth view into Oracle Retail Point-of-Service 13.4.1.

The first Webcast is devoted to a functional overview, while the second will provide a technical overview. Note that these sessions only cover new and changed features since the last release, so users should already have a basic understanding of Oracle Retail Point-of-Service.

Topics covered in both sessions include
  • Authorized payment foundation. Provides a secure application programming interface that isolates the authorization process from the point-of-service, enabling integration with Servebase Global Card Solutions, ACI Payment Systems, and other payment processing solutions.
  • Biometrics. Simplifies and strengthens compliance with payment card industry security standards by allowing operators to log in using their fingerprint via integrated biometrics technology from leader DigitalPersona.
  • Scan sheet. Enables cashiers to quickly navigate pictures or icons of products, and then easily add the item to a transaction without having to scan a barcode.
  • Reports preview. Allows authorized users to preview point-of-service reports at any time, without sending the entire report to print.
In addition to the above, the functional overview (login required) will cover
  • New discount rules
  • Receipt updates
  • User interface updates
  • Labels and tags ticket request
  • Quantity short cut
And the technical overview (login required) will also address
  • User interface updates
  • Item inquiry
  • Oracle Retail Point-of-Service to Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management item disposition
  • Encryption of sensitive customer data
  • Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management 13.2.3 support
  • Cluster support
  • Technical fixes
  • Stack configurations
  • Installer changes
  • Data model changes
