Newly Launched Oracle Exalytics X3-4 Powers Real-Time Insights
With 2 terabytes (TB) of main memory, 2.4 TB of Flash storage, and 5.4 TB of hard disk space, the recently released Oracle Exalytics In-Memory Machine X3-4 represents a dramatic expansion of industry's first high-speed engineered system for business analytics.
“The ability to unlock data in a quick, easy, and timely manner can drive strong competitive advantage,” said Paul Rodwick, vice president of product management, Oracle. “With Oracle Exalytics X3-4, our customers spend less time on complicated integrations and more time delivering real-time answers to strategic business questions.”
Oracle Exalytics X2-4 customers can increase their Flash memory to 2.4TB and main memory to 2TB with a new upgrade kit. An updated version of the Exalytics software including certification with BI Foundation Suite 22.214.171.124, TimesTen 126.96.36.199, Endeca Information Discovery 2.0, and Hyperion EPM 188.8.131.52 is also availbale for all Exalytics customers. And all Exalytics customers can access key new software updates.
Data-Driven Competitive Advantage
The latest release expands support for advanced planning, data discovery, scenario modeling, burst reporting, and what-if analysis, thanks to
- Deeper analysis. With 2 TB of main memory plus expanded compression capabilities, the latest release supports analysis of much larger data sets as well as more aggregates at various levels of granularity.
- Faster calculations. With 2.4 TB of Flash storage, the latest release speeds load times by up to 25X and calculation times by up to 9X when multiple Oracle Essbase cubes are running concurrently.
- Greater mobility. Thanks to seamless integration with Oracle Business Intelligence Mobile, mobile users gain new support for gestural interactivity, expanded access to visualization capabilities, and near-instantaneous responses—all without any additional development.

Oracle Exalytics In-Memory Machine X3-4 is powered by the latest generation of software, including Oracle Essbase and Oracle TimesTen In-Memory Database as well as two recent releases.
