Oracle Launches Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center 12c

To help organizations adopt cloud computing faster and with less effort and risk, Oracle has launched Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center 12c.

A key part of the Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c product family, Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center 12c introduces unique capabilities for establishing, managing, and supporting infrastructure as a service (IaaS) clouds. It offers complete, centralized management for Oracle engineered systems; Oracle’s SPARC servers and Oracle’s x86 servers; Oracle Solaris and Oracle Linux; Oracle’s Sun ZFS Storage Appliance and Sun server networking; and Oracle virtualization solutions, including Oracle VM and Oracle Solaris Zones.

“No other vendor today is able to provide this level of complete cloud control across a user’s infrastructure," says Steve Wilson, vice president, Systems Management, Oracle.

Key new benefits of Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center 12c include
  • Accelerated mission-critical cloud deployment. Comprehensive cloud lifecycle management across Oracle hardware, Oracle Linux, and Oracle Solaris, including central management of all virtualization technologies, self-service management of cloud lifecycle, and dynamic resource scheduling.
  • Total management for Oracle Solaris 11. New support for Oracle Solaris’s image packaging system, automated installer, and alternate boot environments. Enhanced I/O manageability in Oracle Solaris environments provide improved manageability of iSCSI, fibre channel interfaces, and network and storage technologies.
  • Simplified Oracle engineered systems management. New support for Oracle’s SPARC SuperCluster T4-4 enhances the rich management capabilities of Oracle Exadata Database Machine and Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud. Go from bare-metal to the cloud in minutes.
  • Proactive cloud support. Enhancements in My Oracle Support allow cloud administrators to benefit from automatic service requests, proactive patch recommendations, and health checks. My Oracle Support is integrated with Oracle Enterprise Manager’s comprehensive, automated patch planner and end-of-life advisor for all the application technology deployed within Oracle clouds.
Introducing: Oracle’s Ops Center Everywhere Program
Along with latest product release, Oracle also introduced the new Ops Center Everywhere program. Now Oracle server, storage, networking, Oracle Linux, Oracle Solaris, and Oracle VM customers with Premier Support agreements have access to the Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center—at no additional cost.

As a result, these organizations can manage all their Oracle systems technologies from a single pane, with no extra license charges. Program participants also receive proactive support information and recommendations, with tools to manage service requests and apply patches.
