Oracle Expands Resources for Public Sector Tax Collections

Oracle announced that its decision late last year to expand its tax and revenue management operations is resulting in enhancements to Oracle Enterprise Taxation and Policy Management and providing additional resources to help public sector agencies collect tax revenues more efficiently.

“Our big drive is to significantly broaden and deepen the capabilities of the solutions we bring to public sector organizations throughout the world,” says Andre Van Der Post, global director of tax solutions and strategy, Oracle. “That now includes a larger team of Oracle experts with deep technical and domain skills than we have ever had before.”

The move comes at a time of heightened importance for tax and revenue activities as governments around the globe struggle to reduce debt. As a result, government executives are seeking new resources to help their departments collect all the tax revenues rightfully owed by taxpayers, Van Der Post says.

He adds that many developing nations currently lack a modern taxation infrastructure and are now turning to solutions such as Oracle Enterprise Taxation and Policy Management to jumpstart these operations.

The Oracle solution is designed to streamline all aspects of the collection process and help agencies manage the complexities and rapid changes in tax laws and policies. As a result, countries, states/provinces, and cities can increase collections through improved tracking, compliance, and customer service tools. Particularly helpful is the application’s ability to create a single view of the taxpayer by consolidating information from multiple legacy systems and revenue sources.
