Oracle President Hurd: HR Intelligence Can Cultivate Talent and Drive Strategic Initiatives

To win the race for the best and brightest talent in their respective vertical markets, enterprises need data to help them proactively manage employees, drive strategic initiatives that promote innovation, and enhance business performance, Mark Hurd, Oracle president, told a gathering of human capital management (HCM) professionals in a keynote address at the recent Taleo World 2012 conference.

The event showcased the Oracle Talent Management Cloud Service recruiting, talent management, and analytics functionality. Oracle also used the conference to discuss how Oracle Taleo solutions, combined with Oracle’s suite of core human resources (HR) systems, create a one-stop-shop for businesses to manage the full spectrum of HR in the cloud.

InformationWeek reported how Hurd demonstrated to the crowd how an enterprise could save millions of dollars using Oracle Talent Management Cloud Service and other Oracle solutions. The savings came about because the applications enabled executives to analyze key data, such as turnover rates, employee performance rates, recruiting metrics, and more.

Hurd explained that executives can use HR-related intelligence to help them make better business decisions, shape the future of their organizations, and improve the bottom line. Hurd urged HR leaders to use data to make fact-based decisions about hiring, talent management, and succession to drive strategic growth.

Oracle also used the event to discuss what Oracle Talent Management Cloud Service will mean for mobile applications. “Oracle did a great job of previewing its integration with mobile technology using Oracle Fusion Tap, which provides an integrated experience on tablets such as the Apple iPad for managers to engage with employees, and to better market a company brand for potential job candidates,” according to Mark Smith, chief executive officer and chief research officer, Ventana Research.
