Oracle Announces New Oracle's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne In-Memory Offering and Key New Mobile Functionality

At the COLLABORATE 14 conference, Oracle announced the availability of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne In-Memory Planning Advisor, which provides an interactive view of critical planning data so material planners can respond quickly to changes in the supply chain.

To further accelerate profitable business execution, Oracle also introduced JD Edwards EnterpriseOne mobile enterprise applications, which enable employees of midsize companies to conduct business with applications that work on their device of choice.

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne In-Memory Planning Advisor
Oracle In-Memory Applications are designed to take full advantage of the groundbreaking technology for processing, memory, capacity, and reliability inherent in Oracle's engineered systems. As a result, midsize organizations can process large amounts of data interactively, turning batch processes into real-time transactions.

"Given today's exploding data volumes, batch jobs take longer and longer," says Lyle Ekdahl, senior vice president and general manager, JD Edwards. "That can reduce visibility into timely data and result in less than optimal decisions, and ultimately, a negative impact on the bottom line."

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne In-Memory Planning Advisor draws on existing functionality in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Requirements Planning. In order to understand if supply meets demand, material planners and buyers need to view days of supply, current inventory levels, supply and demand, inventory in inspection, past due supply, available to promise, held lots, and safety stock information. JD Edwards EnterpriseOne In-Memory Planning Advisor consists of two primary components that combine existing functionality of materials requirements planning and distribution requirements planning with new real-time functionality in order to see all of this information in one place.

  • The planning advisor summary offers a workspace that allows planners to view summary information about their items, including current inventory on hand, days until first receipt, safety stock, and lead time.
  • The in-memory planning advisor console helps planners manage fluctuating supply and demand by displaying in real time how factors such as bringing in dates, increasing quantities, or canceling supply will impact the overall supply required to meet demand.

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Mobile Enterprise Applications
To empower an increasingly mobile workforce, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne mobile enterprise applications now delivers a wide range of key functionalities on all major mobile platforms and devices, including

  • Purchase and requisition self-service order approval
  • Expense entry and approval
  • Sales inquiries
  • Service time entry
  • Work order management
  • Equipment management
  • Quick case management
  • Health and safety incident reporting and scorecards
  • Customer contact and account overview information
"This launch, backed up by a forward-thinking and comprehensive strategy, shows that Oracle is serious about delivering mobile capabilities to midsize organizations as easily and affordably as possible," adds Ekdahl.
