New Oracle Business Intelligence Release Supports Decision-Making Anytime, Anywhere
With expanded mobility and more intuitive visualization capabilities, the latest release of Oracle Business Intelligence helps business users quickly identify and analyze trends, then take immediate action—regardless of where the job may take them.
The Oracle Business Intelligence family is a comprehensive, unified business intelligence platform that delivers a full range of analytic and reporting capabilities across all kinds of devices—plus direct connection to business applications so users can take action right away.
“With the latest release of Oracle Business Intelligence we are making it easier to put intelligence into the hands of every user in a highly visual, easy-to-understand way—enabling them to speed decision-making and change business outcomes—anytime, anywhere,” explains Balaji Yelamanchili, Oracle senior vice president of business analytics products.
More Engaged Mobile Users
To drive a more engaging mobile user experience, the latest release delivers enhanced and new mobile and visualization capabilities, including
- Improved user experience. Live thumbnails enable users to quickly access the information they use most, while an enhanced search interface scans offline and online content.
- Greater interactivity. New features make it easier to use touch and multigestural interactions to manipulate business intelligence content, including one-finger swipe, two-finger pinch, tap-and-hold, and tap-and-drag movements.
- Better offline access. To provide always-available analytics, content can be saved for offline viewing and refreshed when back online, while still enabling fine-grained security. Administrators can grant or revoke the ability to save offline content based on a specific user, role, or group.
- Improved scalability. Leveraging the in-memory processing of Oracle Exalytics In-Memory Machine, organizations can serve thousands of mobile users simultaneously, and process and view millions of rows of data at the speed of thought.
New visualization tools, such as trellis views, drive faster decision-making by allowing users to quickly organize and visualize massive amounts of data.
In addition, microcharts—such as sparklines, sparkbars, and sparkareas—enable users to minimize data ink for maximum usability. Support for line geometries in geospatial visualizations help customers quickly visualize linear data.
“Thanks to Oracle Mobile business intelligence running on Oracle Exalytics, we are updated with the absolute latest insights so we can quickly take action and capitalize on new opportunities,” noted Torsten Balslev, CIO, Nilson Group. “Our users, from store managers to procurement managers, now have instant analysis to monitor our product across all channels and be able to respond to shifts in demand in real time regardless if they are in front of their PC or on the road with their mobile device.”
