From American Apparel to American Red Cross, Oracle's ATG Solutions Improve the Customer Experience
By delivering personalized online commerce experiences, Oracle ATG Web Commerce is helping improve the customer experience through personalization at organizations as diverse as American Apparel and the American Red Cross.
Oracle ATG Web Commerce provides comprehensive tools for delivering individualized sites and other highly relevant content and merchandising capabilities. It also supports personalized search results and makes it easy to customize marketing campaigns.
American Apparel: E-Commerce Sales Up 38 Percent
Since launching an e-commerce platform based on Oracle ATG Web Commerce, American Apparel has achieved significant increases in e-commerce sales. Sales rose more than 38 percent year-to-year, while in December 2012, the company’s online business achieved the highest sales month in its history, with an increase of more than 59 percent over December 2011.
“As we continue to grow sales worldwide, the Oracle solution will enable us to personalize and enhance the customer experience online, streamline service, and introduce more international sites,” said Stacey Shulman, chief information officer of American Apparel.
Redcross.com Passes Big Test in the Wake of Hurricane Sandy
To help drive donations in support of its humanitarian services and programs, the American Red Cross also turned to Oracle ATG Web Commerce. The new solution passed a big test when it was able to handle as many as 500,000 page requests per minute during the Hurricane Sandy telethon.
The charitable organization―which responds to roughly 70,000 disasters per year, helping millions of people in need―chose Oracle ATG Web Commerce On Demand to contain costs while responding to extreme increases in traffic during domestic and international disasters.
“We used Oracle ATG Web Commerce’s personalization and content targeting capabilities during our Sandy response to update and make changes hourly, to keep people informed, and to make it easier for them to get help and know how to help,” said Craig Oldham, vice president of marketing and digital engagement at American Red Cross.
For example, people in affected areas saw shelter and services updates, while those coming to the site from outside the Sandy-impacted area could quickly find ways to volunteer, give blood, or make financial donations.
