Latest Release of Oracle Retail Category Management Drives Better Store Performance
In January 2013, Oracle launched the latest version of Oracle Retail Category Management, which helps grocers, big box retailers, hardlines, and department stores drive same-store sales growth by creating assortments, pricing, and promotions tailored to specific customer segments.

The latest release helps retailers
- Accelerate planning. The latest version offers new, preconfigured, automated planning processes aligned with industry best practices that incorporate advanced data analysis and visualization tools. As a result, retailers can quickly and easily leverage multiple data sources, including market data as well as the retailer’s own data.
- Reduce implementation time and cost. With expanded templates and data models, this release dramatically simplifies integration of data from multiple third-party syndicated data sources, including internal sources such as customer loyalty cards and point-of-sale information.
- Improve profitability. Create space-aware, tailored assortments by using new embedded forecasting, customer segmentations, and consumer decision trees.
