Oracle ACE Director Joel Perez is an expert DBA, OCM Cloud Administrator, and OCM11g with over 15 years of real world experience in Oracle technology. He specializes in the design and implementation of solutions involving everything from high availability, disaster recovery, upgrades, replication, tuning, and the Cloud. As a Senior DBA consultant, he has traveled to more than 50 countries for conferences or clients. Joel has authored technical Oracle articles for OTN in both Spanish and Portuguese. He has been a regular speaker at Oracle events worldwide including OTN LAD (Latin America), OTN MENA (Middle East & Africa), OTN APAC (Asia Pacific), LAD Oracle Day, and DTCC China.
Joel has been a pioneer in Oracle technology since the early days of his career. He was the first Latin American given the OTN Expert award (2003) by Oracle, one of the first Oracle ACEs (2004) and OCP Database Cloud Administrators worldwide (2013), with his biggest professional achievement being honored as one of the first OCM Database Cloud Administrators in the world.
Currently, Joel is based in Beijing, China. He is working as the Chief Technologist & MAA, HA Architect for the premier Oracle consulting company in China, Yunhe Enmo (Beijing) Technology Co.,Ltd.
Outside of work, Joel enjoys a variety of activities including traveling both within China and internationally, salsa dancing NY style, photography, learning Mandarin by full immersion, and riding his new Chinese bike all over Beijing.
