Oracle OpenWorld 2012 Preview: Don't-Miss Oracle Retail Sessions

With 14 planned sessions focusing on Oracle Retail, Oracle OpenWorld 2012—taking place in San Francisco from September 30 to October 4—is expected to provide unprecedented insight into Oracle Retail solutions.

Oracle Retail is focusing this year's agenda around enabling “Your Experience Platform”—the ability to deliver on the retailer's brand promise and drive profitable growth through seamless cross-channel experiences—using the full Oracle footprint. To achieve these goals, retailers must
  • Connect interactions. Retailers must connect customer interactions seamlessly across all channels and touch points.
  • Gain actionable insights. Retailers must drive smarter decisions by connecting siloed sources of data—and by embedding retail science and business intelligence directly into business processes.
  • Optimize operations. Retailers must align every aspect of the business to gain efficiencies and economies.
Peer-to-Peer Sharing
In addition to organized sessions, conference attendees consistently report how much value they get from meeting peers to share experiences and best practices. In response, Oracle Retail will once again host the Retail Lounge at San Francisco's renowned Palace Hotel.

Don't Miss Sessions
Oracle Retail conference organizers particularly recommend the following sessions.
  • Transforming the Customer Experience (session ID: CON9689)
Hear Andrea Morgan-Vandome, vice president, Oracle Retail, discuss how you can create the ideal experience platform by achieving three overarching goals: connected interactions, actionable insight, and optimized operations.
  • Enhancing Human Resources through Talent Management (session ID: CON9673)
Retailers face a number of challenges in terms of talent management, from high associate turnover to constantly increasing pressure to lower labor costs. And many are struggling to meet these challenges with multiple, disconnected talent management systems. This session explores how Oracle's integrated talent management solution helps retailers improve performance and drive growth.
  • The Power of Actionable Insight (session ID: CON9693)
Oracle Retail analytics and business intelligence solutions provide retailers with access to reliable, timely, and relevant information to drive better business decisions by promoting connected interactions, actionable insight, and optimized operations within the organization. The release of Oracle Retail Merchandising Analytics and Oracle Retail Customer Analytics marks major steps in next-generation retail BI by introducing foundational functionality built on Oracle's business intelligence and data warehousing platform and technology. Oracle Retail analytics solutions help retailers better understand their business, make more-informed decisions, and execute with the confidence that they are having a positive impact on top and bottom lines.
