Oracle's Ongoing Investments in Innovation Benefit Finance Organizations
Demonstrating its long-term commitment to existing product lines through the delivery of continuous innovation, Oracle introduced a series of significant enhancements to its lineup of industry-leading financial applications.
Oracle E-Business Suite
At Oracle OpenWorld 2013, Cliff Godwin, Oracle senior vice president of applications development, announced the availability of Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2. In addition to online patching to reduce downtime, announcements were made for the availability of mobile expenses and Oracle Application Testing Suite for Oracle E-Business Suite. Oracle E-Business Suite Financials is now integrated with Oracle Fusion Accounting Hub and Oracle Data Relationship Management to help companies improve automation and efficiency while supporting compliance with changing accounting and reporting requirements.

Oracle Fusion Financials
The latest release of Oracle Fusion Financials includes new social capabilities to help close the books faster.
Financial close collaboration capabilities enable finance organizations to work more closely together to speed the financial close process. A close monitor feature accelerates the close by giving team members visibility into the status of all their subledgers. With Oracle Social Network, staff members can start conversations in real time to easily resolve outstanding issues in any ledger without resorting to e-mails and phone calls.
Also new in Oracle Fusion Applications is the project execution management (PEM) suite that integrates with the existing project financial management suite, which provides insight into project costing, billing, and performance. The PEM suite helps organizations automate, streamline, and control project management processes, resources, and tasks. The suite is available as a cloud service or as a traditional on-premises solution.
Improvements to Oracle's PeopleSoft Financials 9.2 include Oracle Secure Enterprise Search, which uses a global, free-text search interface to help finance professionals quickly find information. In addition, new WorkCenter features improve user effectiveness by consolidating tasks, exceptions, alerts, links, reports, and queries into a role-based command center format. Users can see a list of their priority tasks and related data displayed in each WorkCenter, including one for general ledger and 11 other functional areas. New pivot grids help accounting staff and management make informed decisions with access to actionable information. PeopleSoft Financials 9.2 also delivers mobile solutions for managing expense reports, purchasing requisitions, and other activities.
