Gartner Positions Oracle as a Leader in Magic Quadrant Reports in Two Key Business Analytics Categories
Gartner, Inc. has again named Oracle a leader in both its Magic Quadrant for Corporate Performance Management Suites, and its Magic Quadrant for Business Intelligence and Analytics Platforms.
Gartner’s Magic Quadrant reports position vendors within a particular quadrant based on their completeness of vision and ability to execute.
Leadership in Business Intelligence and Analytics Platforms
Gartner defines business intelligence (BI) and analytics as a software platform that delivers 17 capabilities across three categories: information delivery, analysis, and integration.
According to Gartner, "Leaders are vendors that are strong in the breadth and depth of their BI platform capabilities, and can deliver on enterprisewide implementations that support a broad BI strategy. Leaders articulate a business proposition that resonates with buyers, supported by viability and operational capability to deliver on a global basis. Smaller vendors, which may lack strong scores for geographic or vertical/industry strategy, may still be Leaders due to the strength of their market understanding, capabilities, and road maps (to enable business users more easily to find relevant insights in data), market momentum, and excellent execution on key product, customer, and sales experience measures.”
Leadership in Corporate Performance Management Suites
In the report, Gartner defines performance management as "the combination of management methodologies, metrics, and technologies that enables users to define, monitor, and optimize results and outcomes to achieve personal or departmental objectives, while enabling alignment with strategic objectives across multiple organizational levels: personal, process, group, departmental, corporate, or business ecosystem."
According to Gartner, “Leaders possess a large percentage of the market share in the CPM suite market and demonstrate superior CPM sales levels. They can deliver breadth and depth of CPM suite functionality, as well as provide enterprisewide implementations to support a broad CPM strategy. Leaders excel at vision, successfully articulate a business proposition that resonates with buyers, are well-recognized in the space, have broad international presence in execution, and are supported by the viability and operational capability to deliver on a global basis.”
Oracle Participation at the Gartner Summit
At this year's Gartner Business Intelligence and Analytics Summit, Oracle's big data strategist Paul Sonderegger was joined by Miguel Barrera, director of Risk Analytics, Fiserv. In an hour-long session titled "Big Data: Run and Change the Business," they explored how organizations can make big data actionable by complementing existing analytical technologies with new nonrelational techniques and new discovery tools.
The summit also gave attendees a firsthand look at Oracle's latest business analytics solutions, which include features ranging from self-service data discovery to ever-faster performance on Oracle’s engineered systems.
