Oracle Extends Oracle Business Intelligence Mobile Support for Android

As adoption of mobile technology in the workplace continues to accelerate, Oracle has launched a new version of Oracle Business Intelligence Mobile that extends support to the Android operating system.

Now, Android users can view, analyze, and act on all their analyses, dashboards, scorecards, and reports—on the go.

"Workers increasingly want to conduct business anytime, anywhere," said Jacques Vigeant, product strategy director for Oracle Business Intelligence Mobile. "However, user convenience is only one business driver. Research shows that organizations that adopt mobile analytics find that usage of data-driven insights almost doubles."

About Oracle Business Intelligence Mobile
Oracle Business Intelligence Mobile is the primary application for accessing business intelligence information on smart phones and tablets. Integrated with Oracle Business Intelligence Foundation Suite, it gives users immediate access to data-driven, analytic insights on both their Android and iOS mobile devices—without compromising data integrity and security.

Content such as dashboards, scorecards, and reports—plus self-service apps created using Oracle Business Intelligence Mobile App Designer—are immediately available. Content is automatically adapted for interaction on mobile devices of any screen size, and it is optimized for multitouch gestures. No additional modifications are required.

With Oracle Business Intelligence Mobile, users can
  • Drill down on reports
  • Apply prompts to filter data
  • View interactive formats on geospatial visualizations
  • View and interact with dashboards, key performance indicators, and scorecards
Built for Android
To simplify and speed adoption, Oracle Business Intelligence Mobile for Android provides a look and feel already familiar to Android users. And it lets users take advantage of Android-specific features, such as
  • Voice commands. To enhance the search experience, users can simply use voice commands to open content and search for their data, rather than browsing through a catalog.
  • Tap to share. By leveraging near-field communications, business users can easily share content with their colleagues without having to share a URL or search for a report name. By simply tapping the Android mobile devices together, the new content opens on the new device—with all the security settings intact.
  • Any screen size. Oracle Business Intelligence Mobile for Android adapts automatically to any screen size, with pixel-perfect viewing across any screen size.
