Oracle Cloud Adapters Simplify Salesforce.com Integration

Integration is complex enough for existing enterprise platforms—the cloud adds a whole new wrinkle. While companies can implement integration toolkits just for the cloud or use the limited functionality of the tools found in cloud applications, often that only increases the complexity of the problem.

"In order to avoid a patchwork quilt of disparate and overlapping integration products, enterprises should consolidate down to a single solution for integrating applications, regardless of where the application is deployed," says Bruce Tierney, senior principal product marketing director, Oracle. "Whether an organization has public or private clouds or on-premises systems—or all of the above—the simplest solution is to use one platform to integrate them all."

Simplify and Unify Cloud Integration
This is the strategy behind the Oracle Cloud Adapters family of products, which significantly simplify integration of on-premises and cloud applications and services, including Salesforce.com. Customers using Oracle Applications such as Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Fusion Applications are already familiar with simplified integration, since Oracle integrates Oracle SOA Suite components directly into the applications. Now, with the addition of Oracle Cloud Adapter for Salesforce.com, customers of both Oracle and Salesforce.com applications will have seamless integration spanning cloud and on-premises applications, thereby reducing integration costs and complexity with a simplified and unified approach. That is also the premise of Oracle AppAdvantage for cloud and on-premises integration.

Reduce Integration Time
Oracle Cloud Adapters simplify integration considerably with a wizard-based approach to automating manual steps and session management tasks. "Integration development time using the Oracle Cloud Adapter for Salesforce.com has been reduced by approximately half compared to traditional methods, which lets developers focus on business requirements rather than technical enablement," says Tierney.

Streamline Security
Oracle Cloud Adapters also streamline security. For example, security best practices are enforced using the credential store framework application programming interface to avoid sending confidential credentials over the network.

The introduction of a unified, simplified approach to cloud integration is nothing short of game changing. "This lets companies more easily get a complete and unified view of customer and back-end data spanning cloud and on-premises applications using Oracle SOA Suite and the Oracle Cloud Adapters," says Tierney.
