Oracle Database 12c Attacks Top Challenges for Revenue Agencies

Revenue agencies have unique technology requirements for retaining operational data and for data mining and business intelligence. These demands have forced some organizations to expand their IT environments in ways that have resulted in prohibitive costs and slow processing speeds. Now, a number of innovations within Oracle Database 12c are solving these challenges.

"Leading-edge innovations in Oracle Database 12c allow revenue agencies to improve their operational abilities while still reducing their technology footprint," says Andre Van Der Post, Oracle global director of public sector revenue management. "This gives these organizations a double payoff: they see increased efficacy and reduced cost, which is truly the ultimate goal when it comes to technology for revenue authorities."

Topping the list of technology enhancements is Oracle's multitenant architecture, a new option that simplifies technology consolidation without requiring changes to existing applications. This new architecture allows IT administrators to manage many databases as a single resource, while retaining the isolation and resource prioritization of separate databases. In addition, Oracle's multitenant architecture supports rapid provisioning and upgrades, and complements other performance-enhancing options, such as Oracle Real Application Clusters 12c and Oracle Active Data Guard.

Effective Data Management
Also available in Oracle Database 12c is information lifecycle management with automatic data optimization and heat map technologies. Together they allow agencies to archive and compress data that is seldom used, while still being able to use this data when it's required. In addition, the maximum availability architecture in Oracle Database 12c provides advanced failover and high availability.
