Latest Oracle Enterprise Manager Release Includes Major Enhancements for Managing Oracle Fusion Middleware 12c
In addition to its ability to manage Oracle Database 12c and private cloud solutions, the new Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c Release 4 provides key enhancements for managing Oracle Fusion Middleware 12c, including
- A consolidated view across deployments to boost productivity and responsiveness
- The introduction of Java Virtual Machine (JVM) diagnostics as a service
- Automated provisioning for service-oriented architecture environments
- Enhanced management for Oracle Big Data Appliance
Spot Issues More Quickly and Easily
Thanks to a new consolidated view across Oracle Fusion Middleware 12c deployments, the latest release enables administrators to more easily spot critical performance and availability information. At the same time, a range of filtering techniques allows them to display and track behaviors and activities of particular concern.
In addition, new guided management tools enhance productivity. And enhancements make it easier to manage both Oracle and non-Oracle middleware with a single, centralized solution.
Java Virtual Machine Diagnostics as a Service
Thanks to new enhancements, the JVM diagnostics manager—ready to use, out of the box—can now handle more than twice as many JVMs. The result: administrators gain 24/7 diagnostics support for live production environments even as they reduce the time and effort required to optimize performance—all without any changes to target applications.
In addition, the new JVM diagnostics-as-a-service capability allows applications and middleware administrators to provide JVM diagnostics capabilities directly to developers and quality assurance engineers on an as-needed basis. Users are provisioned automatically and receive their own self-service portals for accessing diagnostics capabilities for a predefined period of time.
“With the latest release of Oracle Enterprise Manager, developers and testers can now accelerate code defect analysis and remediation of performance issues, without requiring administrator privileges or their own installations of Oracle Enterprise Manager,” says Oracle Senior Director of Product Management Glen Hawkins.
Automated Provisioning for Service-Oriented Architecture
To speed domain scaling and migrations, the latest release gives middleware administrators the tools to perform mass provisioning of Oracle Fusion Middleware environments, including Oracle SOA Suite and Oracle Service Bus.
Oracle Enterprise Manager also provides greater agility in performing domain scaling and migrations. These capabilities enable simplified deployment of Oracle service-oriented architecture environments for traditional IT, as well as private and hybrid middleware clouds.
