Accelerate Private Cloud Adoption with Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c Release 4

Launched in June 2014, Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c Release 4 includes new innovations for IT operations management. With this release, IT organizations can get enterprise-scale Oracle-based private clouds up and running with unprecedented speed—while also empowering end users with much richer self-service experiences.

“With these key innovations to our end-to-end cloud lifecycle management solution, we are helping our customers build the kind of next-generation platforms that meet the demands of cloud computing and big data, and mobile and social initiatives,” says Oracle’s Senior Director of Product Management and Business Development Dan Koloski.

In addition to private cloud management, Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c Release 4 also includes major enhancements for managing Oracle Database 12c and Oracle Fusion Middleware 12c.

Up and Running Faster than Ever
The new zero-to-cloud—accelerated features of Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c Release 4, including out-of-the-box automation and predefined service definitions, enable a push-button style deployment of new private clouds, with capabilities for single instance, Oracle Real Application Clusters, and Oracle Active Data Guard. Expanded provisioning automation also speeds private cloud deployment.

“Now our customers can deliver cloud services in a matter of minutes and hours rather than days and weeks,” says Koloski.

Enhanced Self-Service Experience
To empower end users, Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c Release 4 also includes a new self-service portal that is both more productive and easier to use.

A comprehensive service catalog also enhances usability with predefined high-availability and disaster recovery service options. And extended metering and chargeback capabilities make it easier to apply a wide range of custom extensions for both monitoring metrics and abstract entities, from backup requests to number of tests.
