Oracle OpenWorld 2014 Preview: Don't-Miss Sessions, Hands-on Labs, and More

Demand for infrastructure as a service, platform as a service, and private cloud solutions continues to accelerate, and organizers of Oracle OpenWorld 2014 are expecting heavy turnout at sessions related to Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c —a key enabler of these next-generation technologies.

The recent well-received launch of Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c Release 4 is also expected to drive increased attendance.

The number of Oracle Enterprise Manager customers participating in Oracle OpenWorld reveals the growing importance of the solution across industries. Major names include UBS, Accenture, PayPal, Chevron, GM, Pacific Gas and Electric, The Hartford, and Societé Générale, among others.

An unprecedented eight user-group forum sessions at this year's conference also demonstrate the growing level of interest in Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c.

Don't-Miss Sessions
Out of a total of nearly 60 sessions devoted to Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c, event organizers have nominated three don't-miss sessions, including

  • Drive the Future of Self-Service IT with Oracle Enterprise Manager
    In this session, Oracle Senior Vice President of Systems Management Prakash Ramamurthy discusses customer and partner experiences in deploying and managing large-footprint private cloud environments encompassing Oracle Applications, Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle Database, and Oracle’s engineered systems. The session also includes a sneak preview of several exciting new cloud offerings that will provide exceptional operational insight.
  • Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c: The Complete Solution and Oracle’s Best-Kept Secrets
    Through a series of product demonstrations, Oracle Vice President of Data Technologies Amit Ganesh, head of product development for Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c, reveals some of the most powerful features in the Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c product family—and how individual components work together as a single, powerful, comprehensive solution.
  • Under the Hood: Diagnosing and Troubleshooting Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c Release 4
    This session begins with a high-level exploration of the Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c infrastructure (such as the repository and the agent), before exploring specific, value-add techniques and tips for monitoring and tuning performance issues identified by Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c.

Hands-on Labs
In addition to conference sessions, there are nine hands-on labs devoted to Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c solutions, with topics ranging from building a private database-as-a-service cloud to rapid mass deployment of Oracle Fusion Middleware.
