Rick Schultz
Vice President
Oracle Technology Product Marketing

Rick Schultz is Vice President of Technology Product Marketing at Oracle. In this role, Schultz is responsible for helping to define and drive the global market strategy for Oracle's technology business. His area of expertise includes the company's software infrastructure products, such as Oracle Database, Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle Business Intelligence Standard Edition, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio.
Schultz rejoined Oracle in 2004 and for the next few years was primarily responsible for leading the marketing efforts for Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle's fastest-growing business. He concurrently spent a couple of years driving the marketing efforts for Oracle's business intelligence, security, and enterprise management products.
Prior to rejoining Oracle, Schultz spent six years in the software division of Sun Microsystems, where he held various roles leading product marketing teams across Java 2 Standard Edition, Java 2 Enterprise Edition, and middleware products.
Before that, Schultz was with Oracle from 1995 to 1998. During this time, his responsibilities included heading a product management group focused on Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio.
Schultz holds a degree in business from the University of California, Berkeley.

John Abel
Chief Technical Architect, Oracle EMEA

John has worked at Oracle for 16+ years and during this time he has mainly been in consulting including leading Oracle’s Enterprise Architects across Western Europe. Following the acquisition of Sun Microsystems, he became the lead architect across EMEA for the Server and Storage business. In this role, John evangelises the value of the joint Hardware & Software proposition of the combined Sun/Oracle. Through his time at Oracle, John has engaged and worked with over 200+ customers thus he can bring real world experiences to answer key business challenges.
Chris Armes
Vice President of Revenue Products Engineering

Chris Armes is the Vice President of Revenue Products Engineering (RPE) for Oracle's Systems business unit. Although based out of the UK, Chris claims no time zone. He spends a significant portion of his time visiting customers and partners to help them understand Systems' products and support strategy. That combined with the global responsibility of his organization, keeps him on the move.
RPE consists of some 300 engineers and is primarily focused on providing sustaining engineering for products including Solaris, Solaris Cluster, SAM/QFS, Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center, and the Storage Server 7000 series. The team also provides the engineering support for Engineered Systems such as Solaris Exadata and SPARC SuperCluster.
Chris joined Sun in 1999, becoming part of Oracle with the acquisition of Sun. He has over 20 years of experience in the industry including leading large organizations in the software engineering of operating systems and application software for military use. He has a BSc (HONS) degree in Computing Science from Staffordshire University.
Noel Coloe
Head of Sales Development, Applications

Noel Coloe is Head of Applications Sales Development, Oracle Western Europe. His pan-European team is responsible for linking product development with Oracle’s field organisation and customers, bringing new applications and value propositions to market as well as providing feedback based on regional needs to Oracle’s product management teams. Noel’s team also contributes enterprise application thought leadership to Oracle’s customers, partners and product management groups, as well as the European media.
Noel joined Oracle in 2008, leading the company’s business development around SaaS CRM; his work has contributed to the rapid growth of Oracle CRM on Demand with EMEA enterprise clients, the successful launch of new SaaS CRM product lines in EMEA and the hosting of Oracle CRM on Demand within the EU.
Noel has over 20 years’ experience in enterprise software spanning BI / EPM, Retail Applications, Predictive Analytics, SOA and CRM. Prior to joining Oracle, he held EMEA sales leadership positions at BEA (acquired by Oracle in 2008) and SPSS.
Noel graduated from the University of Brighton with a BSc hons in Mathematics.

Philip Dawson
Research VP, Gartner Research
Reading United Kingdom

Philip Dawson is a vice president in Gartner Research and Virtualisation Agenda Manager. He specialises in virtualisation, cloud infrastructure and server selection. Mr. Dawson is a leading authority on virtualisation of Linux, Unix and Windows infrastructure platforms. Virtualisation, portfolio consolidation, and rationalisation processes are key to his virtualisation coverage and enabling cloud delivery.

Prior to joining Gartner through the Meta Group acquisition, Mr. Dawson was competitive market research manager for Sequent Computer Systems, Europe. In this role, he worked within product marketing, helping develop UNIX/NT Integration Strategies and the introduction of Intel IA-32/IA-64 NUMA platforms. Before this, he worked at Santa Cruz Operation as product marketing manager for all layered products.

Chris Jones
Manageability Solutions Specialist

Chris has over 20 years of experience in the IT industry, the last 4 being in Oracle. He has worked in consulting, technical director and product management positions in software companies both in the UK and across EMEA. Over that time he has helped hundreds of customers to improve the quality and management of key applications and application infrastructures. In his current position, Chris is focused on Manageability as expressed through the features of Enterprise Manager and has particular focus on Cloud and Engineered Solutions.
Richard Garsthagen
Director Cloud Business Development

Richard Garsthagen is the Director of Cloud Business Development for Oracle. He is responsible for positioning Oracle’s Cloud Computing products and Public Cloud services throughout Europe.
With over 15 years experience working for high tech companies including Citrix and VMware, Richard has gained an extensive knowledge of Virtualization and Cloud Computing Solutions available today. His deep technical knowledge and enthusiasm for Cloud Computing enables him to clearly promote the Oracle Cloud Solutions to a broad audience daily.

Bernard Wheeler
Customer Solutions Director

Bernard Wheeler is a Customer Solutions Director at Oracle. In this a role he assists customers and partners achieve the best returns from their relationship with Oracle as a key supplier by defining and evolving IT architectures and strategic solutions that meet their current and future business needs, both by leveraging their existing Oracle investments and by exploiting additional Oracle offerings, whether to bridge capability gaps or to enhance and augment existing proficiencies – especially where Engineered Systems can add significant targeted benefit.

Prior to this role Bernard had been a senior member of the Fusion Middleware Pre-Sales team where he had worked since joining Oracle in 2005. While working for previous employers Bernard has had a number of customer-facing roles including pre-sales technical support, product marketing, systems development and on-site consultancy.

He graduated with an Engineering degree from Cambridge University and has specialised in distributed, multi-tier software systems and architectures for over 25 years.

Steve Elliott

Steve has been with the software group in Oracle/Sun for 18 years with a focus on Java and middleware/appserver technology.

He has been involved with Java since before it went public in 1995 and was responsible for much of the original introduction of Java in the UK.

With over 30-years experience in the IT industry including time as a developer and technical pre-sales management roles, Steve has recently held a variety of European and UK technology positions in Sun and Oracle.


Mohammed Hassan

Mohammed Hassan has a Post Graduate in Strategic Leadership from the University of Chichester. His career started at Forte Hotels Global Reservations Centre the core of his experience being within the Hotels and Leisure sectors, having held various roles Sales and Operational Management roles with over 15 years experience within the Contact Centre/Call Centre environment. Mohammed also worked within Outsourcing as part of the senior management start up team for the Renault Cars account at Inkfish Call Centres (Now Domestic & General), he then moved onto the Camelot Group as Operational Team Manager working on various sales and customer enhancement projects before joining Slough Borough Council in 2006 as Customer Services Manager. In 2010 he was appointed as Customer Services Development Manager programme managing the Slough Borough Council's Customer Transformation projects.


Tim Burnett
Managing Director
Connection Point Technology Ltd.

Tim started his career with Racal working on the GSM phone standard. Six years as a technical architect at Accenture followed before moving to Oracle Corporation. The next ten years involved a mixture of sales and project delivery leading to a role as a Senior Director responsible for consulting sales in the UK Utilities and Energy Sector. In 2005 Dr Burnett started Connection Point Technology Ltd. Connection Point Technology specialises in the implementation of CRM for service organisations, specifically the integration needed to achieve process benefits. In 2010 Connection Point Technology was shortlisted in the BCS UK IT Industry Awards. Tim Burnett has a BSc from Reading University and a PhD from University College London.
