Oracle Student Information Analytics: Decision-Making Made Easy

Oracle announced the release of Oracle Student Information Analytics, a new solution within the Oracle Business Intelligence Applications family designed to help higher-education institutions quickly benefit from best-in-class reporting and analytic capabilities. Administrators can use the new solution to make better management decisions, maximize student recruiting efforts, improve retention rates, and analyze student financial transactions.

The solution also helps schools overcome one of the key challenges of launching a sophisticated business intelligence application—determining the right key performance indicators (KPIs) that will best measure performance and enhance decision-making. “With traditional solutions, administrators may spend weeks or months figuring out the right KPIs and then building reports and dashboards to support them,” says Takin Babaei, Oracle’s product marketing director for business analytics.

Instead, Oracle Student Information Analytics provides tools to help academic institutions jumpstart their analytics capabilities. “We deliver the prebuilt dashboards and more than 300 best practice KPIs right out of the box,” Babaei explains. “To start measuring performance, you just use source-specific adapters to plug Oracle Student Information Analytics into your existing PeopleSoft Campus Solutions or other third-party systems.”

Oracle worked with leading educational institutions and Oracle partners to identify which best practices and performance measurements should be included in the new solution. The application also provides tools for schools to add custom KPIs into dashboards to meet any unique needs.

The prebuilt KPIs and dashboards in Oracle Student Information Analytics focus on three key areas.

  • Recruitment and admissions. Schools can analyze information about the student recruiting and admissions lifecycle.
  • Student records. These tools help track and analyze student admissions, course catalogs, class scheduling, and faculty workloads.
  • Student financials. Organizations can review and manage student financial transactions, monitor outstanding balances, and keep their finances on track.
