Oracle Certification Program E-Magazine
March 2013
Hi Everyone,

I want to thank you for taking time to browse the Oracle Certification E-Magazine. The certification team has been very busy lately and we have a number of items that you should find interesting in this issue.

As many of you know we recently made a change to the way that you access score reports after the exam. You must log into the Oracle system called CertView in order to see your score, review your history, download logos (along with other important functionality). There are steps that you can take prior to your exam that will make this process much simpler and I suggest that you take a close look at a couple of the articles in this E-Magazine to minimize any potential issues.

For those of you who are in the process of becoming certified, I want to encourage you to remember that it is the process of study, practice and review (as you prepare to take your exam) that will help you become a better IT professional. So please be sure to focus on expanding your knowledge and skills as you go through that process.

As always I wish you the best of luck on your certification and in your career.

Thank you!
Paul Sorensen

Common Issues With Receiving Your Exam Results

Where do I see my exam results?
You can view your exam results by going to certview.oracle.com, authenticating the account (if you have not already authenticated) and selecting the 'See My New Exam Results Now' option.

You will need the Oracle Testing ID and email address from your profile at pearsonvue.com/oracle to authenticate the CertView account.

I am unable to login to my CertView account.
More often than not, this is because you are not using the correct information to authenticate the account. You should go to pearsonvue.com/oracle and enter the email address and Oracle Testing ID exactly as it is in the profile at Pearson VUE. If there have been changes in the Pearson VUE account and less than one hour has passed, you should try again after one hour has passed.

If you continue to have trouble, we suggest you go ahead and let the authentication fail 3 times and the account will be sent for manual processing. This should take 24 - 72 hours.

I am trying to login to my CertView account but my account got locked.
The most likely thing that happened here is that you have already authenticated CertView with the email address and a different Oracle Testing ID.

If you have 2 IDs, you should contact pearsonvue.com/oracle/idmerge to get the IDs merged. You could contact Oracle Certification Support for assistance with this issue, if you know that you do not have 2 IDs.

I have not received email notification of my exam results and more than 30 minutes have passed since my exam.
This is most likely because you are checking a different email address from the one your Pearson VUE profile. Check the email address in your Pearson VUE profile.

If you still have not received the email and it has been more than 30 minutes, you can login on CertView and select the 'See My New Exam Results Now' link.

I am not able to print my old score reports.
Score reports for exams taken before September 1, 2009 are no longer available.

Be Sure You're Purchasing A Valid Oracle Certification Voucher

Be Sure You're Purchasing A Valid Oracle Certification Voucher

Did you know that purchasing vouchers from a non-authorized outlet is fraud? We recently revoked several exam scores as we tracked down counterfeit vouchers that had been used to purchase exams.

Use caution - you may not even be a willing or knowing party to the fraud. Test takers are often surprised to discover that their vouchers are not valid.

Don't be a victim. Be sure that you are buying your vouchers from a reputable source.

Certification Integrity and Cheating

Certification Integrity and Cheating

The Oracle Certification program is something that we are proud of. We invest many many hours and numerous resources carefully crafting the focus and contents of our exams to be sure that they accurately and fairly measure the skills needed to master our technologies. We also invest in securing the exams to help ensure that scores closely reflect abilities. That is why when we learn of any persons or groups attempting fraud against the community and our program, we take it seriously.

We continue in our efforts to pursue and prosecute security incidents such as cheating or attempting to cheat at our testing centers, providing test questions to other users, proxy testing, using cheating materials to prepare for the exam, and fabricating score reports. Oracle takes various actions against cheaters including nullifying exam results, de-certifying candidates, and banning candidates from further Oracle testing.

We have previously posted a series where we discuss some information about cheating, who it hurts, and who it really benefits, and so you'll see links to the series below.

If you become aware of a cheating incident, please let us know. Because of security measures, we obviously cannot disclose our resulting actions; but rest assured - we do investigate these claims and respond accordingly. We are committed to preserving the integrity of your certifications and our program, and we genuinely appreciate your involvement.

Is Oracle Changing The Way That Exams Are Scored?

FAQ

On November 15, 2012, Oracle Certification exam results became available directly from Oracle's certification portal, CertView. This change requires candidates to authenticate their CertView accounts before being able to access their exam results. The Oracle Certification team has developed a series of videos to help candidates through this new process.

Check back often as we will be highlighting these videos over the coming weeks. You can find all the information you will need on this new process along with relevant questions and answers on our website. As always, you can contact Oracle Certification Support if you need assistance.
